I'm using a Superfalls 10-6000LH that I got from Koi Joy for $329.99. We're most of the way through the second season, and the pump has been running quietly and without any problems, with no maintenance so far.

This pump sits out of the water at about "sea level"; the prime is maintained by a checkvalve on the inlet.
